Withdrawal may take the form of a physical retreat but not necessarily. The shifting away from material concerns toward the acquisition of knowledge is essential.
How to Read This Card Reversed
Reversed, the card signifies the return to society and daily concerns after a time apart. It may be time to open ourselves up to love or other joyous pursuits. Another possibility is the need to retreat is being ignored. Finally, a reversed Hermit may be saying that we are lacking objectivity or neutrality when it is needed.
